Psalm 40 Obedience

We, as Truth seekers, know that in order to achieve full realization of our Christ potential, the only thing that is required of us is obedience. It sounds very simple, but for us to get to a state of mind in which we are fully compliant to Spirit is an arduous process. In many respects those who are considered to be on the fringes of society have a much easier time with this demand. This is because they often times do not have to release all of the things we are taught to help us fit in to the social order. As any one who has walked the path can tell, there are times when spiritual realization is a lonely road. The decisions we make do not fit the mold of what society tells us, we should want and do. Those around us think that we have truly lost our mind. This is called living in the world but not of the world. In order to be obedient to Spirit, we must go within for guidance and direction in making decisions, because God’s way is never the way of the world.

Our call is to wait patiently on the Lord. The answers will come; they always do in God’s time
... but those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.   Isa 40:31
Eventually Spirit will set us on firm ground again. We are offered new inspiration (a new song in my mouth) and a strengthened faith in God. Those who maintain the spiritual perspective (trust in the Lord), despite appearances, rather than turning to negative thoughts and feelings (false gods) find their blessings multiplied beyond comprehension.

Once we decide to turn our lives over to Spirit, we are given a freedom and a “peace that passes all understanding,” for we know in our being that with God all things are possible. In these moments of clarity we bask in the joy of knowing. We recognize that we alone can accomplish nothing, but if our thoughts are on God, we can and will be delivered.

And so it is! Amen!
